“No Country for Women”

We are a nation in a serious psychosis about our women. And it is no longer about the backward states alone. While they take the cake, it is disturbing that the malaise has spread across the country. Be it Maharashtra, Kerala, Bengal, Karnataka. Women are not safe anywhere anymore. 

Are the media and films to be blamed? Is it the collective insecurity of men who need a docile woman to prove their worth or who are threatened by independent women? What makes men the privileged arbiters in how woman should live and behave? Does it start with the male dominated film industry that rampantly exploits women or objectifies them? Or are they simply mirroring the realities of our society. Or is it all of these and more…

This documentary raises serious questions that needs urgent answers.
